A unique style of Grenache Blanc with a lot of finesse. Subtle lime blossoms and green herbal notes along with white peach and quince followed through by a richly textured palate and balanced acidity. Our Grenache Blanc is grown as echalas vines (vine-to-post) on clay-shale rich soil with a high component of quartz rock. A high density planting resulting in very concentrated fruit in this mountainous vineyard site. Complexity is build through multiple picking dates. A portion of skin ferment is used to further capture the uniqueness of this variety. The grapes are whole bunch pressed for gentle extraction. Juice is settled overnight. During racking enough fine lees is added to the clear juice to ensure enough texture in the finished wine. Natural fermentation further enhances the complexity. Different vessels are used to highlight each batch. Only seasoned oak is used to respect the delicate nature of this variety. Maturation took place for 10 months on gross lees. alc 14.0
